Hosack, John The mathematics of symmetry: A tutorial. (English) Zbl 0876.00001 Symmetry Cult. Sci. 4, No. 4, 407-410 (1993). In mathematics (and physics) the concept of symmetry is expressed in terms of the action of a group, called the symmetry group, on a set. This article presents a brief tutorial on these concepts that assumes no previous knowledge of mathematics, and considers some possible extensions.
