Summary: We use a simple epistemic logic to pose problems related to relational database design. We use the notion of attribute dependencies, which is weaker than the notion of functional dependencies, to perform design tasks since it satisfies Armstrong axioms. We discuss also the application of the simple epistemic logic to privacy protection and to statistical disclosure.
