The author gives a detailed exposition of the Floquet’s technique for the study of a periodic Hamiltonian defined on a surface, i.e. an operator of type \(\Delta +Q,\) where \(\Delta\) is the Laplacian and Q is a periodic potential. The author refined also, as particular cases, some results from Fredholm’s operator theory.
