Uniqueness theorem adapted to the control of solutions of hyperbolic equations.

Soit \(A(x,D_ x)\) un opérateur elliptique \[ A(x,D_ x)=\sum_{n\geq i,j\geq 1}a_{ij}(x)D_{x_ i}D_{x_ j}+\sum_{i=1}^ n a_ i(x)D_{x_ i}+a_ 0(x), \] où nous rappellons seulement que pour \((a_{ij}(x))\), matrice réelle définie positive, il existe deux constantes \(C_ 1,C_ 2>0\), telles que pour tout \(x\in\Omega\) et pour tout \(\xi\in \mathbb{R}^ n\) soit \(C_ 2|\xi|^ 2\geq\sum_{{n\geq i} \atop {j\geq 1}}a_{ij}(x)\xi_ i\xi_ j\geq C_ 1|\xi|^ 2.\)
Supposé:
que \(u(t,x)\) verifie la condition \([D_ t^ 2-A(x,D_ x)]u(x,t)=0\) pour \((t,x)\in]-T,T[\times\Omega\);
que \(u(t,x)=0\) pour \((t,x)\in]-T,T[\times B(x_ 0,r_ 0)\), où \(x_ 0\in\Omega\), \(r_ 0>0\) et \(B(x_ 0,r_ 0)\subset\Omega;\)
que \(D=\text{Sup}\{d(x_ 0,x), \hbox{ pour } x\in\Omega\}\neq+\infty\), où \(d(\;,\;)\) est la distance géodésique dans \(\Omega\);
l’auteur démontre qu’il existe un réel \(K>0\) (ou \(K\) ne dépend que de \(C_ 1\) et \(C_ 2\)), tel que, si \(T>KD\), alors \(u(t,x)=0\) pour \((t,x)\in]-T_ 1,T_ 1[\times\Omega\), où \(T_ 1=T-KD\).
