Control 46, 1487-1489 (1987). An explicit analytical relationship between coefficients of the characteristic polynomial of open- and closed-loop systems and the elements of the output feedback matrix [see K. J. Reinschke, ibid. 43, 1465-1485 (1986; Zbl 0585.93028)] is presented. This relationship makes the probem of the modal synthesis of a multi-input system much easier.
