The method of discrete vortices in problems of electrostatics. (Russian) Zbl 0789.65092

Bakhvalov, N. S. (ed.) et al., Numerical analysis: methods, algorithms, programs. Moskva: Izdatel’stvo Moskovskogo Universiteta. 97-114 (1991).
Summary: An algorithm for the numerical solution of the three-dimensional problem on the perturbation of a given initial electrostatic field is presented, caused by the presence of an ideally conducting body, with its possible covering (complete or partial) by a thin layer of a dielectric. The method of solution consists in a reduction of the Dirichlet boundary value problem to a corresponding boundary integral equation (representation of the solution by the double-layer potential) and a reduction to a system of linear algebraic equations for determination of the potential density.
