Kiladze, Revaz Theoretical basis for the computer simulation of the river floods. (English) Zbl 1294.76202 Bull. Georgian Natl. Acad. Sci. (N.S.) 5, No. 1, 81-83 (2011). Summary: High waters and floods are considered as an unsteady motion of water in a river, as described by the nonlinear differential equations of Saint Venant. A new method is proposed for the numerical solution of these equations based on stable difference schemes and the method of matrix “runs”, which permits broader possibilities of coverage under complex initial and boundary conditions that unavoidably occur in practice. This method is proposed for the computer simulation of river floods.
