Research day dealing with the scientific work of Tullio Levi-Civita. (Italian) Zbl 0782.01014

In December 12, 1991, a workshop in Rome took place in honour of the 50th anniversary of the death of Tullio Levi-Civita. There were given four lectures meant as contributions to a scientific biography:
1. The relation between theory and application in the work of Levi- Civita, in respect of the absolute differential calculus and the three- body problem. (G. Israel, L. Dell’Aglio).
2. Levi-Civita’s figure in the development of general relativity (C. Cattani, M. DeMaria).
3. Levi-Civita and the resumption of international relations after the first world war, presented in the case of applied mechanics (G. Battimelli).
4. The emerge of the international dimension of Levi-Civita (P. Nastasi).
There are presented short summaries.
