APACIC++

swMATH ID: 2622
Software Authors: R. Kuhn, F. Krauss, B. Ivanyi, G. Soff
Description: APACIC++ 1. 0. A PArton Cascade in C++. This article describes a Monte Carlo event-generator dedicated to the simulation of electron-positron annihilations into jet. First the physics of the problem is considered. Then the C++ program is described in some details. This article is quite interesting especially for physicists as it considers several practical problems arising in the implementation. The main difference to other event generators is, that channels with varying numbers of jets can be treated simultaneously by means of the corresponding matrix elements describing their production combined with the parton shower modelling their evolution. This has not been accomplished before and opens new perspectives for event generators for jet physics
