SCATLAB

swMATH ID: 3118
Software Authors: Roy, Nicolas
Description: The SCATLAB software. Scatter is inherent to all physical systems. This simple truth is the underlying motivation for the development of SCATLAB: a unique software tool capable of analyzing, comparing and validating stochastic models. Through the B-pillar example, SCATLAB demonstrates that powerful multivariate methods may be combined with state-of-the-art stochastic comparison techniques within a single interactive environment. The various modules are organized such that the user is naturally guided through the steps of model analysis, comparison and validation. Moreover, SCATLAB offers simple graphical displays allowing the user to investigate, discover and understand the behavior of his model without being over-whelmed by the underlying statistical concepts. Finally, as a prototype code, SCATLAB represents only a first step. The methods proposed today will quickly evolve in order to meet the needs of analysts as they proceed along the challenging yet rewarding path of stochastic analysis.
