VESTA toolkit swMATH ID: 43484 Software Authors: Pinna F. Description: VESTA toolkit: a software to compute transition and stability of boundary layers. Transition prediction is a key element of the design of future hypersonic vehicles, because the high thermal loads associated with turbulent flows have a direct impact on the thermal protection system. To this aim the von Kärman Institute built a toolkit gathering several codes able to cope with the boundary layer stability at different flow regimes. The high modularity of the code allows an easier implementation of different stability equations and the derivation of different set of equations according to the level of physical detail desired by the user.
