JXTA swMATH ID: 8994 Software Authors: Gong, L. Description: JXTA: A network programming environment. JXTA technology, from Sun Microsystems, is a network programming and computing platform that is designed to solve a number of problems in modern distributed computing, especially in the area broadly referred to as peer-to-peer (P2P) computing or P2P networking. JXTA provides a network programming platform specifically designed to be the foundation for P2P systems. As a set of protocols, the technology stays away from APIs and remains independent of programming languages. This means that heterogeneous devices with completely different software stacks can interoperate through JXTA protocols. JXTA technology is also independent of transport protocols. It can be implemented on top of TCP/IP, HTTP, Bluetooth, HomePNA, and many other protocols Homepage: http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/login.jsp?tp=&arnumber=935182 Related Software: Chord; BOINC; XPath; ASKALON; Twister; MapReduce; C4.5; EvAg; Eureqa; Neural Network Toolbox; Vowpal Wabbit; lasso4j; FlexGP; Pastry; Jena; Aglets; Oracle; UDDI; Cactus; InfoGram Cited in: 8 Publications all top 5 Cited by 28 Authors 1 Antunes, Rodolfo S. 1 Azzedin, Farag 1 Barcellos, Marinho P. 1 Birman, Kenneth P. 1 Bryce, Ciarán 1 Detsch, André 1 Dumitriu, Dan 1 Dumitriu, Sergiu 1 Fahringer, Thomas 1 Gaspary, Luciano Paschoal 1 Gawor, Jarek 1 Kutten, Shay 1 Lane, Peter C.
