Brzozowski, J. A.; Łuba, T. Decomposition of Boolean functions specified by cubes. (English) Zbl 1049.06011 J. Mult.-Val. Log. Soft Comput. 9, No. 4, 377-417 (2003). The functions dealt with in this paper are multiple-output partially defined Boolean functions Encyclopedia of Mathematics nLab Wikipedia Wolfram MathWorld with don’t care conditions. Using a compact matrix representation, the authors study decompositions of the form \(f(x_1,\dots,x_n)=h(u_1,\dots,u_r,g(v_1,\dots,v_s))\), where \(\{u_1,\dots,u_r\}\) and \(\{v_1,\dots,v_s\}\) are subsets of \(\{x_1,\dots,x_n\}\). In particular the authors discuss decompositions with constraints on the number of arguments of the components.
