(French) Zbl 0002.16302 Bull. Sci. Math., II. Ser. 55, 175-192 (1931). The work of Hamel on the radial flow of a viscous fluid is completed by a consideration of (1) the case in which the fluid is bounded by two free stream-lines, (2) the case in which the fluid is bounded by a free stream line and a plane wall. In (1) there may be efflux on both free stream-lines or efflux along one radial stream-line and influx along the other. In (2) there are two subcases. In the first there is an upper bound to the aperture for the case of efflux and a lower bound for the case of influx. In the second subcase there is merely an upper bound to the aperture. These motions depend on an arbitrary constant. In all cases the formulas involve elliptic integrals. The paper closes with a study of the motions in logarithmic spirals that differ only slightly from the radial motions already considered. An existence theorem is given for spiral motion between two solid walls. This review text is based on a scanned copy of the printed version.
