Bobnev, A. A. Differential rotation of a nonspherical polytropic star. (English. Russian original) Zbl 0795.76092 Magnetohydrodynamics 27, No. 4, 361-367 (1991); translation from Magn. Gidrodin. 1991, No. 4, 3-10 (1991). In approximation of an ideal and ideally conducting polytropic gas we have constructed a solution which nonuniquely describes the differential rotation of the star and of its surface. For selection of solutions we employ the principle of minimum integral electromagnetic energy, allowing us uniquely to establish the relationship between the electromagnetic field of the star and the characteristic magnitude of its differential rotation.
